The Shen varsity wrestling team won at the Class A prequalifiers on Saturday, February 5, 2011 with 279 points overall. Their closest competition was Columbia, who finished with 229 points.
The nail biter of the night was 130-pounder Nick Kelly’s final bout against Matt Greene of Columbia. Kelly took first place, along with Jesse Porter, Max Miller, Jim Carucci, Tony Fusco, Mike Almaviva , and Cole Lampman.
Shen will advance thirteen wrestlers to the Section II tournament at the Glens Falls Civic Center, beginning February 11th.
